The Dog Exhibit
The more space an image has, the more I find myself focusing on what’s really important in the photograph. Negative space plays a huge role in my dog portraits –– especially so in The Dog Exhibit collection. By simply pulling back and giving my subject space, I’m intentionally telling the viewer exactly what is important in the image.
Dog portrait sessions can be a crazy beautiful mess. Dogs don’t usually do what you ask, so I’m working fast and reacting to what the dog is giving me. Backing up, getting close, and literally rolling around while trying my best to speak their language. The Dog Exhibit is a more artful minimalist approach to creating art with dogs.
